ScarAway- The Solution for Scars

Beyond being a mother to an accident-prone child, I am also wife to an accident-prone man. I got my training early and scars are nothing new. We have tried every cream, gel, lotion and band-aid type cover on scars and had mixed results. None has lived up to ScarAway. I cannot say this enough.

We received a 12 week supply (the standard box size of 12 sheets, $29.99) and it came right on time. Our four-year-old had recently cut her forehead open on some pavement and had a rather nasty, jagged gash. The doctor in the ER told me she might need plastic surgery later in life to lessen its appearance. I cried a bit over that one. Reluctantly, I placed a small piece (you can easily trim the 1.5" x 3"sheets to size) of ScarAway on her forehead before bed and did not believe I would see any noticeable results. This latex-free, ultra-thin silicone sheet is self-adhesive and it can even be washed and reused. I was amazed. In order for our daughter to wear it, each night we had to draw a red heart on it but a red ballpoint pen did the trick. She would put in on her forehead after brushing her teeth and in the morning, we would easily remove it without any pain or tears. I wish we could say the same thing for hair brushing. There were no side effects and the sheet really contours to fit an area. After one week, I noticed some redness in her scar was gone. Three weeks later all of the redness was gone, the gash filled in partially, flattened and it is almost invisible! I have never seen anything work so well. I am truly grateful to this amazing product and the people who make it. Thankfully, it is also available over the counter.

ScarAway works wonders. I cannot stop recommending it to everyone I know who needs a product like this. Just last week I wrote it down for a mother at playgroup whose daughter had almost the same injury as mine. It is truly a gentle, efficient, amazing product!

ScarAway is recommended for ages three and up and can be purchased online at the company website.  Various sizes are available as well as a Silicone Gel Scar Diminishing Serum.

MPR Rating: Five Stars.

Sucrets ICE

It's sick season in our house and probably yours as well. That nasty cold you are nursing probably started with a sore throat. Sucrets ICE is like a Popsicle for your firey throat. It's great for adults as well as kids ages three on up. In pomegranate and grape flavors infused with echinecea and zinc the Sucrets ICE is a great way for you and your family to take their medicine.

One of the things I really liked about this product is that it only takes an hour to freeze and it is not a large dose. My three year-old daughter couldn't wait to try it with her last cold. She was able to eat it quickly and it made her throat feel better for the rest of the morning. It works just like a throat spray, numbing the area and cooling it. It works well for minor sore throats and also has a bit of cough suppressant in it.

The only thing that I did not like about Sucrets ICE is the packaging. The medicine freezes into about half the packaging and you have to cut it with scissors to get to the actual product. Since the package does not tear easily it is hard to get to the product as you eat it. I had to keep cutting it with scissors or tearing it awkwardly. I placed it in a bowl for my daughter so she could eat it with ease.
Overall, I liked this product. I will continue to use it as my child likes it much better than throat spray and the relief it provides lasts for quite some time. You can purchase Sucrets ICE at drugstore.com and other drugstores nationwide.

Invented by a Mom and winner of the 2007 JPMA (Juvenile Products Manufacturer’s Association) Reliadose, seeks to make the sometimes difficult task of giving your child medicine, easy. This simple to use medicine delivery system consists of a dual-chamber nipple, bottle and syringe. They work together to effectively deliver the proper dosage of medicine all without the unpleasant mediciney taste.

Reliadose is great for anyone who has trouble giving their child medicine. It works with the child’s natural instinct to drink. It is also not difficult to clean. It is compact too so it won’t take up a lot space in a cabinet, bag, or draw. It’s truly a wonderful idea because it really does eliminate a lot of the stress that can occur when your child is sick and doesn’t like to take their medicine. Dealing with a sick child is hard enough, Reliadose just blends right into their daily schedule!

Reliadose is available online at cvs.com and in some drugstores and supermarkets nationwide and the Reliadose website is incredibly comprehensive.
