Bellezza ring by TDM Design

TDM Design, Fabric of Society uses their accessory line to create opportunities for the Nepalese women to generate a reliable income.
The Bellezza ring ($55) is just one beautiful and stylish addition to the accessory line. The brightly colored glass beads come in a variety of colors. Each ring is handmade and looks great. I call this style ring a conversation piece. Every time I wear it people are drawn to it, want to know about it and just plain want it. I love wearing it because it goes with so many outfits and the bright colors make me smile each time I wear it. It instantly brightens up whatever I'm wearing. The wire band of the ring is delicate in appearance but it is quite sturdy and comfortable to wear.
MPR Rating: Four Stars.

Avon and Reese Witherspoon (their spokesperson) have teamed up to create the Women's Empowerment necklace. In an effort to raise awareness and improve women's lives globally Avon is donating $4.11 from the $5 price tag on this necklace to the Avon Empowerment Fund to end violence against women.

I'm giving away one of these necklaces this week. It's my birthday this month but I'm giving one lucky reader a gift instead. Just enter to win by commenting and I'll choose a winner at random on Friday, May 22. Pretty close to my actual birthday.

Little Jewel- For Girls and For Mommies

When I was born my father gave me a delicate gold necklace with a single pearl. Each birthday afterwards another pearl was added to the chain. This necklace is not just a touching tradition in my family but a wonderful keepsake and a beautiful piece of jewelry that I cherish.

Pearls may not be your thing, but Little Jewel has something that appeals to all of us. From tiny charms in gold and silver to earrings, religious items and semi-precious stones everyone can find a special piece to commemorate the birth of a child or give Mom a beautiful gift just because.

Little Jewel sent me a pretty gold charm of a little girl created to celebrate the light and life of motherhood and honor both mothers and grandmothers. This delicate charm has a nice look to it and doesn't have any of that schmaltzy quality to it that many pieces that fall into the motherhood jewelery category possess. This is what I like about Little Jewel. All the collections from the child to the adult pieces are finely crafted and of such an excellent quality. The bracelets and earrings for little ones are just as nice as the items for adults. The birthstone pieces and pearl earrings particularly appealed to me. My father also gave me my first birthstone ring at the age of ten and I still have it to this day. Coming from a family that bestows jewelry on its little girls, Little Jewel has been a wonderful find for me to keep continuing this tradition with my two girls.

Shipping is free for orders over $150 and any of the items from the various Little Jewel collections make a heartfelt, wonderful gift that future generations will enjoy as well. There is truly something for everyone no matter what their taste or price point.

Trends to Love

Just as I was thinking of re-doing my powder room in art deco it becomes a hot trend. My thoughts of putting Erte on the walls were spot on apparently.

Here's the thing- you can art deco it up anywhere, not just your home. Get inspired and add a chunky cocktail ring, a jet-beaded set of earrings or necklace. Learn to love squares and hard edges again. Those lovely tops sold anywhere from Target to H&M to uber-expensive sidewalk shops you can find an assortment of tunic, tanks and tees decorated with colorful jewels. Buy them! They are not now and they will be through the spring and summer.

Another new trend I love for winter and I am going to use it through on into spring (if you place it with black or khaki) is watermelon. I'm not saying the scent. I'm talking the color here ladies. Use it as a scarf. An accent bag or belt. Toe nail polish if you aren't feeling too daring or committed. Against black it pops and looks divinely juicy. It is loads of fun and adds a bit of fun to your sometimes drab winter ensemble.

Those are just two trends to love right now....
