Delicious Deal: 10% Off Harry & David Gifts for Dad

I don’t know about your dad, but mine has a killer sweet tooth. He’s a sucker for frozen yogurt, ice cream, chocolate covered nuts, delicious fruit and other yummy treats. The man has everything and every year I struggle when deciding what to get him for Father’s Day (which is coming up quickly)! If he wants it, he buys it. Something that he can never get sick of and something for which he can never get sick of buying are his favorite snacks!

If you’ve ever received a Harry and David gift basket, you know how awesomely succulent their fruit is and the variety of goods they offer. Walking into a Harry and David might seem overwhelming at first as there are so many options. If you are the type that would rather put a custom touch to your gifts, I suggest selecting your dad’s favorite items and having one of their friendly customer service reps create the perfect gift basket. Not only does Harry and David have fruit, chocolate and snacks, but they also carry wine, pasta noodles (sometimes in holiday shapes), pasta sauce, cheese cakes and even floral arrangements.

They online site allows you to select a pre-made gift basket or tower which might be a better option for those who’d rather shop from the convenience of their sofa. Their Father’s Day section has some great finds. I think my dad would like something like this Great Expectations Double Discovery Gift for $59.95.

If you use this Harry and David coupon code for 10% off select Father’s Day gifts, you will save $6 on this particular gift which should knock out some of the shipping costs. Go to HarryandDavid.com before Sunday, June 19th to take advantage of the coupon and check out the other great gift baskets and goodies available.

Perfect Pomegranate, Inc Bags

For over fifteen years Pomegranate, Inc. has been making gorgeous table linens, totes, kitchen accessories and more. Their prints and patterns are bold, fresh and unique. Nothing says summer to me more than a Pomegranate tablecloth. Just from viewing the website one can tell that French Provence and its classic colors are the main inspiration behind Pomegranate's designs. This summer I was lucky enough to try out the Palm Beach Daffodil Carryall Tote and Cosmetic Bag. Love at first sight.

The Cosmetic bag comes in three sizes- small, medium and large. Prices range from $16-20 and each has a zippered closure and is lined with plastic. The plastic lining is easy to wipe it out when spills occur. I used mine (size large: 10” x 3” x 6”) for my gym bag all summer and found that the sturdy 100% cotton outside holds up quite well. The zipper doesn't stick and I was able to fit my toiletries and make-up all inside the large bag. It fit perfectly inside my gym bag without being bulky or taking up lots of space despite its size. It is a nice streamlined cosmetic bag that works so well for traveling.

The Carryall Tote bag (size: 18" x 8" x 12") makes a great overnight bag or even a weekender style bag. It has an easy zip closure and a zippered pocket inside. I loved the bright cheery yellow lining. It made me feel happy each time I opened it. This tote is perfect for an overnight trip and for taking to the pool. It can fit a towel, books, snacks, pool toys and more. The double strap makes carrying comfortable too. The Carryall Tote is also 100% canvas cotton and can be thrown in the wash if needed. I love this bag and I get compliments on it each time I use it. At $36 this bag cannot be beat.

Pomegranate products are available at a variety of specialty stores or online at their website. It is a wonderful place to find housewarming, bridesmaid or other types of gifts for those you love. Monogramming is free too!

MPR Rating: Four Stars.

We all say we are going to do more saving these days and SmartyPig can help us reach that goal.

SmartyPig is FDIC insured up to the maximum allowable amount and has a 3.25% interest rate. It's simple to use too. All you have to do is create an online profile, set up an account and establish a goal. You can meet this goal by having the money automatically deducted from your account each month and even invite friends and family to help you meet your goal all while keeping your information safe and secure. People are using it for weddings, school supplies (those hefty college text books do not come cheap!) and more. SmartyPig is also combining their forces with top retailers such as Best Buy, Amazon and Royal Caribbean. The Cupcake Courier

I am a baker by nature and one of the things I love to bake the most is cupcakes. Each year when I fund raise for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer or whenever I make cupcakes for a party I run into the same problem. How do I transport my precious beauties without smudging the frosting and using a variety of containers? Then I discovered the Cupcake Courier ($32.95) and the nice people at the company sent me one to review. All I can say is one thing: FABULOUS!

This device, invented and designed by a SoCal Mom of two, is so simple but revolutionary to us cupcake fiends. I found the plastic shell to be durable and sturdy. It isn't flimsy and has four locks, two on each side of the dome, to close it up airtight. Each of the three trays (that's 36 cupcakes!) is removable too so it is easy to not just load up or stack but also a breeze to clean. The trays fit easily into my dishwasher.

Dimensions:

Cover: 14"W; 11"H; 11"D

Base: 12.5"X16"Trays: 13.8"L; 10.4"W; 3.2"H

Cups: 1.1"deep; 3"round

While I am not transporting cupcakes to school yet, I often make them for parties, fundraisers and more. Now I have an easy and safe way to transport them without them getting messed up or sliding around. It's perfect! Even better is that it can be used as a cake courier if you remove the trays. While I already have a domed cake container it doesn't have a handle like the Cupcake Courier and it cannot hold a square or rectangular shaped cake like the Cupcake Courier can.

The Cupcake Courier comes in four stylish shades- Lemon Grass, Petal Pink, Soft Blue Sky and Saffron Yellow. It's a must-have for any baker or cupcake lover and would make an excellent holiday gift. To purchase a Cupcake Courier click here. It is also available at Bed, Bath and Beyond, Dillards, HSN and Swoozies and was featured on the Today show.
GIVEAWAY: I'm giving away one Cupcake Courier this week to a lucky reader. All you need to do to be entered to win is read a post from here, let me know which one and comment HERE at MPR with your email address (so I can contact the winner). I'll pick a winner at random on November 15.
