Sensible Portions

I know what you are thinking. Sensible Portions? Snack food that looks like straws? Blech. Except, no. Not blech. Tasty is more like it. I received quite a few 1 oz bags (1, 7, 20 oz available) to try out with my family and found that we all had a different favorite or two. Initially, it was only the toddler that wanted to eat them. While we are a fairly healthy lot in our house but the tube shapes with hollow middles threw us for a bit.

My favorite ended up being the Apple Straws and the Salt and Pepper Straws. The Apple Straws were flavored with a bit of cinnamon and tasted sweet yet crisp. It was like eating a bit of dessert without the guilt. Everyone devoured those bags fast. There were actual fights for them among the children and I kept stealing them as well. The Salt and Pepper Straws are made from real potato. Like the Veggie Straws they are cholesterol free, less fat than potato chips and are NON GMO and trans fat free. There was a delightful bite to the pepper that kept me coming back for more. We also tried the Sweet Barbecue and Smooth Cheddar potato straws. Both equally good and flavorful. The tastes are true and not artificial tasting too.

In all, the Sensible Portions straw snacks were a big hit in our house. I like the size of the bags, they were great for sharing. Everyone in the whole house liked the flavors and there are many to choose from as well. If you are craving something sweet, salty and/or crunchy these are a great snack to pick. They involve less guilt and more pleasure.

Sensible Portions are available online and many retailers like Costco, select 7-11's and Whole Foods stores, Giant, Kroger and more nationwide.
