The Mouse and the Motorcycle

Based upon the best-selling Beverly Cleary book, The Mouse and the Motorcycle, Scholastic brings this charming DVD classic to life. Now your child can enjoy Ralph S. Mouse's adventures as he vrooms through the inn just like you did as a kid.

I know for me, each time The Mouse and the Motorcycle ($14.95) came on television I watched. I was enchanted by Ralph as he got sucked into the hotel's vacuum and helped his human friend Keith obtain his much needed medicine. My daughter loves the movie now too. She thinks a mouse riding a bike is the funniest thing but she also found him getting trapped in a trashcan a bit scary. While two may be a bit young for this DVD it was still a hit in our house. This DVD also includes Wee Gillis, an adaptation of Munro Leaf’s book about a Scottish orphan who must decide whether he wants to tend cattle in the lowlands or hunt stags in the highlands.

What is so wonderful and keeps me coming back to Scholastic DVDs is the enhanced how the new line of Scholastic Storybook Treasure DVDs offers not just more digitally-enhanced content with at least an hour of stories on each release, but the Read-Along portion which highlights words as they’re said, which encourages kids to follow the narration. It's a great way to get your kid into reading.

Check out the live-action and non-stop motion of this DVD. It is perfect for rainy days, car rides and for family viewing.
