GoPicnic!

What's GoPicnic? Quite simply it is ready-to-eat meals filled with natural ingredients that require no refrigeration or preparation. There are so many varieties, I don't even know where to begin. Both children and adults can simply open and enjoy. GoPicnic has gluten-free, halal, kosher and vegetarian varieties too. They’re great for camp, school and when you don’t feel like cooking.

In my house we have used the GoPicnic boxes (just like the ones sold on airplanes only tastier!) on long car trips, on a plane, train and on hikes. The compact boxes pack perfectly in a work bag, backpack, stroller and even a purse or diaper bag. Simply make a selection, grab a box and go! I tried the SportsMunch, Go Delight and Go Power, among others, and found them all to be quite good, each in their own way. My kids loved them too.

We took the Go Delight box with us on a hike to the library one day. That's a five-mile trek and we stopped for a snack before making the loop back home. My daughter and I both loved the sunflower butter on crackers with the strawberry preserves. The sun dried apricots are the same brand I normally buy and the little organic chocolate cookie by Late July completed our snack. We felt sufficiently sated and made our way home.

Right before that trip I headed out west on a rather long plane ride. Halfway through, when no meal service was being offered, I broke out my Go Enjoy Fruit and Cheese meal. The traveler next to me look entranced and couldn't stop staring at my little meal. She had the look of downright envy as I spread asiago cheese on my lavash crackers, ate more dried apricots, a chocolate noir bar and some cashew nut crunch. It was all very good in flavor and fresh. I felt re-charged and I love how you can choose meals not just by taste but protein factor as well. That is huge for this low-blood sugar gal.

I also broke out a GoPicnic box with my two kids on a train earlier this summer too. The tiny red-checked napkin made my daughter squeal with delight as she exclaimed, "We are on a real picnic!" From the organic cheese crackers to the tasty crisps and dried fruit we really enjoyed our little snack.

The portions are just right for kids and will tide an adult over too. GoPicnic has breakfast, lunch, dinner and even emergency prepardness options. The prices cannot be beat either. Ranging from $2.99 to $17.99 (for a 3 day supply) you cannot go wrong with GoPicnic for your next day trip, hike, or wherever your traveling. I love having these handy boxes around my house.
