Book Review- Confessions of a Counterfeit Farm Girl

From the creator of the incredibly funny blog, Confessions of a Counterfeit Farm Girl, comes the book by the same name. Author and fellow Virginian, Susan McCorkindale has written a delightfully good read. In fact, I read the whole thing in one day!

Set in rural Virginia, we find our author in the classic fish out of water story line. This born and bred Jersey girl with the New York city job suddenly finds herself tending to her two sons, farmer husband and soon more than a few animals and suffice to say, hilarity ensues. It is not zany fun. It's a more subdued modern tale of a woman missing her Starbucks and trying for the life of her to find out why on earth all the women in her new town like to wear two turtlenecks. I could definitely relate having moved from the East coast to the West and being a Yankee who has settled in the South myself. I often found myself talking aloud to the book as I read along and agreeing with Susan's predicaments and new life adjustments. They are not just funny but very easy to relate to no matter what your background may be.

If you are looking for a funny but heartfelt read then check out Confessions of a Counterfeit Farm Girl ($15) by Susan McCorkindale.
